1. Short version
- Relyva processes your recovery, activity, sleep, hydration, mood, cycle, and Apple Health signals on your device by default.
- Relyva does not sell personal data.
- Relyva does not use Apple Health data for advertising, tracking, or data brokerage.
- Apple Health access is optional. You can revoke it anytime in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.
- Private iCloud Backup is optional. If you turn it on, your backup is stored in your Apple iCloud account, not on a Relyva-operated server.
- Relyva is a wellness app. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency advice, or professional medical care.
This policy is written to explain the current privacy design of Relyva. It is not a substitute for legal advice, but it is intended to be clear enough for users, testers, and App Store review.
2. Data Relyva may use
Depending on what you choose to enter or allow, Relyva may use the following categories of data:
Profile and preferences
- Age, height, weight, preferred sleep need, measurement units, fitness level, sweat profile, workday pattern, recovery goals, and recovery preferences.
- Optional personalization settings such as sport focus, injury-aware regions, cycle tracking preference, stress baseline, and adaptive learning preference.
Logs you create in Relyva
- Activities, work, travel, workouts, desk days, driving, recovery activities, alcohol, caffeine, headache, soreness, symptoms, naps, water, sleep, mood, and body check-ins.
- Free-text day logs that you type into the app so Relyva can translate them into structured activity entries.
Recovery outputs
- Daily recovery need category, hydration pacing, next-best-move recommendations, trend summaries, coach responses, and advice feedback.
- These outputs are generated from your local data and are intended for wellness guidance only.
3. Apple Health data
If you grant permission, Relyva may read selected Apple Health data to make the recovery read more accurate. Access is optional and controlled by Apple Health permissions.
Health data Relyva may request
- Workouts and workout duration, type, and energy where available.
- Steps, walking/running distance, flights climbed, active energy, and exercise minutes.
- Sleep analysis, including sleep duration and sleep stages when available.
- Dietary water entries.
- Body metrics such as height, weight, and date of birth if you choose to import them.
- Body signals such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, walking heart rate average, VO2 max, and sleeping wrist temperature when available.
- Mindful sessions, menstrual flow, and Apple State of Mind where available and permission is granted.
How Relyva uses Apple Health data
- To estimate real-life load, recovery need, hydration context, sleep quality, trend patterns, and useful next moves.
- To infer gentle movement from steps and walking/running distance when a workout was not explicitly recorded.
- To tune notifications, widgets, Apple Watch views, and Siri shortcuts when those features are enabled.
Health data limitations
Apple Health may know steps, distance, workouts, stairs, and some body signals, but it does not reliably know every real-life activity. For example, it may not know that you drove, worked a long desk day, felt stressed, had alcohol, or did a recovery activity unless you or another app records that information.
4. Storage and optional backup
On-device storage
Relyva is designed to store and process your core recovery data locally on your device by default. This includes your logs, recommendations, trends, and settings.
Private iCloud Backup
Relyva may offer an optional Private iCloud Backup feature. If you enable it, your Relyva data can be backed up to your private Apple iCloud account so you can restore it on another device. This uses Apple's iCloud infrastructure. Relyva does not operate its own server for this backup.
Notifications, widgets, Apple Watch, and Siri
These features may use local snapshots of your recovery read, hydration state, recommendations, or logged activity so that Relyva can be useful without opening the app. They are designed to use the same private app data model.
5. Anonymous app metrics
Relyva may include an optional anonymous app metrics setting. This is intended to help us understand whether the app is working reliably, for example launch, performance, HealthKit permission state, score recalculation timing, or feature usage categories.
- Anonymous app metrics are off by default unless the app clearly asks you to enable them.
- They are not intended to include health data, sleep data, cycle data, mood text, activity logs, water logs, recovery scores, or Ask Relyva questions.
- They are not intended to identify you personally.
7. Your controls
- You can choose what to log manually in Relyva.
- You can edit or delete manual activity and water entries in the app where supported.
- You can revoke Apple Health permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings.
- You can turn notifications on or off in iOS Settings.
- You can delete the app to remove local app data from the device, subject to iOS and iCloud backup behavior.
- If Private iCloud Backup is enabled, you can disable it in the app and manage iCloud data through your Apple account settings.
8. Children
Relyva is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Relyva, contact us so we can help address the issue.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Relyva changes. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this website.
